Karima Chuk Qualifies for World Championship Trials in 1000 freestyle

Karima Chuk swam her first ever World Championship Trial/Senior National qualifying time in the 1000 yd freestyle with a time of 9:55.96. That was good enough for a third place finish in the event. Congrats on making it to the next level! Ford athletes swam six total lifetime best swims in the event. In addition to Karima, the following also swam best times in the event: Thomas Helms 9:34.8 (4:41.4/4:53.4), Lauren Baker 10:09.8 (5:01.2/5:08.6), Kiki Hocheder 10:15.8 (5:07.5/5:08.3), LeighAnn Oliver 10:26.6 (5:07.3/5:19.3), and Caitlin Wright 10:31.9 5:14.2/5:17.7). Karima, Lauren, Kiki, and Caitlin also had lifetime best 500's on the way. Great start to the meet!
